Top Reasons to Take a Charter with Bay Sportfishing

KevinS.jpg

1.   Cost

Owning a boat is a very expensive proposition.  Purchasing a boat will cost thousands of dollars.  Expensive monthly insurance payments, dock fees, winter storage, and all of the needed fishing gear really add up quickly.  After all those payments are made, the boat owner finally gets to purchase gasoline for both the boat and the tow vehicle.

In comparison, charter fishing is a great deal.  A small group can book several charter trips per year with a professional guided for a fraction of the cost of owning a boat.  In most cases, taking a charter is less expensive than hauling your own boat across the state.  My charters are designed to be one of the most affordable ways to go fishing.

2.     Learn how to fish the Saginaw Bay

I consider it part of my job as a guide to share my knowledge with customers.  I am a high school science teacher who is trained in the art of helping people learn.  There is no better way to learn how to fish the Saginaw Bay than taking one of my charters.  You can make the trip as hands-on as you wish.  By the end of the trip you will be threading on crawlers and setting lines like a Saginaw Bay fishing veteran.  I have crawler harnesses and spinner blades available for purchase, so you can recreate the action on your own boat.  I also am willing to give advice concerning rigging your boat to fish it more efficiently.  I consider it my job to make you a better fisherman.

3.     Fish the Hot Bite

The boat is kept on a trailer and can easily travel to the port nearest the “Hot Bite."  I fish from Tawas to Caseville, covering the entire Saginaw Bay.  I also spend a portion of July, August, and September in the Alpena/Harrisville/Rogers City area, so be sure to contact me if you are interested in an economical big water fishing trip on Lake Huron for lake trout, steelhead, and salmon.   August and September trips on Hubbard Lake for walleye are also available if I am in the area during the time of your request.

4.     Pure Enjoyment

Fishing has always been considered a relaxing family/friend oriented activity.   Time on the water with these special people in your life is priceless.  These are the memories that will be talked about for a lifetime.  Don’t forget to bring the camera to capture the moments.  Charter trips also make great gifts.
